Ballad and Walk at Essaouira
A 26' report directed in 1999 by Colette Chevrier
The viewer is taken into another reality by the surreal images and music with which this film bathes us.
The effect is one of timelessness and universality.
The film takes us on a musical stroll trough the town and surrounding area of Essaouira. Over the course of two ordinary days we meet four "personalities".
Two Arab painters, one of whom is a woman, express the "unsayable" through their work.
A farmer finds himself after having discovered the Dutch painter Eicher.
A Danish gallery owner, settled in the town, tells us of the local self taught Gnaoui and Berber artists and their prolific and explosive works.
